The Kerala University College of Teacher Education, Aryad, Alappuzha, is one of the colleges of Teacher Education established by the University of Kerala in 1990 to offer a B.Ed. course. The college is situated 4 km from the KSRTC Bus Station and 7 km from Alappuzha Railway Station. The property and building for this institution were allocated through a Deed of Agreement made between the Registrar of the University of Kerala and the Secretary of the Alappuzha Municipality. The famous Kottamkulangara Temple and Punnamada Lake, the venue of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race, are nearby. Although the college is within the town limits of the Alappuzha Municipality, the tranquil and serene atmosphere around the college is conducive to both teaching and learning.
